Eugene H. Mason, 81, died October 13, 2017 at home. He was born December 5, 1935 in Savannah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Georgia F. Debele and Haywood H. Mason.
Gene attended Sacred Heart School where he met his future wife Carolyn Eady He. graduated from Savannah High School, class of 1955.
He went to work with PPG. After Carolyn graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, they were married on August 22, 1959.
He continued working at PPG until they closed this branch, at which time he purchased it changing the name to Port City Glass. He retired in 1998 after 48 years.
He was abundantly blessed with a wonderful family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn and their children, Laurie Brown (Billy-Dec.), Jeanne Paddison (David), Frank Mason (Kirby), Amy Robertson (Tom), 12 beautiful grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

Saddened to hear of Gene’s death. Our friendship began many years ago when we both worked many years with PPG. Gene & I kept in touch from time to time. It has been several months since we last talked. May God Bless & comfort all of the Mason family members in your loss.

Gene was my first friend in the neighborhood.he was so kind and loved my pugs.he always brought treat for them and kept an eye on my house.he was a true animal lover and a wonderful neighbor I will miss dearly.my sympathy to Carolyn and all his family.god bless
